Lois Bjornson | Learned How to Set and Maintain Boundaries
Lois Bower-Bjornson reclaimed her power by learning how to meet her own needs and more effectively manage boundaries with herself and others.
Lois is an entrepreneur, a leader and a member of the clean air council. She is also a mother of four. A natural leader, she is always looking for ways to challenge herself and grow her edge. Like many successful women, she realized that sometimes you need help in your journey.
Here is her story:
The Catalyst
Before working with Angelina, I was navigating a lot of personal and professional change. I was actively building my own non-profit while working full time and raising my family. Inspired by my work yet unsure of running my own non-profit, I pursued a woman in leadership program which is where I met Angelina.
The Experience
Coaching is a partnership and for it to work both parties have to be invested, I instantly felt a connection to Angelina because of her experience in the body-mind-spirit space. As someone who is very artistic, and movement oriented - this mattered to me. I knew I had some limiting beliefs about starting my own non-profit and was unsure what to do about it. It felt good knowing I had a strong women like Angelina in my corner.
Through her intuitive and insightful nature, she challenged me in the ways I needed by diving deep into old limiting beliefs and behaviors that were no longer working for me and keeping me stuck. What I loved about Angelina is her ability to bring the body-mind connection component into her leadership coaching. Much of what I was experiencing started in my head yet manifested in the form of stress, anxiety, anger and fear, which I felt in my body. Through the exploration of some simple techniques, I was able to shift from reacting to responding. With regular practice, I have been able to intercept my stress tendencies and consciously shift my state of mind and body. By getting clear on who and how I wanted to be, I was able to work with my mind and body to break old, engrained habits; freeing myself from unproductive energy that wasn’t helping me move forward.
The Breakthrough
Since working with Angelina, I have strengthened my mental fitness by:
Removing people pleasing tendencies
Learning what my personal boundaries are and how to effectively communicate them without feeling guilt
Gave voice to my own needs and stopped holding this part of myself back
I feel a sense of inner power that I knew was always there but couldn’t quite connect with on a regular basis. I feel more confident in my choices and have gained a renewed perspective on where to invest my precious energy. As a businesswomen and mother this is HUGE!
